SECRETARY - (Position Filled)
The Secretary provides clerical support to the KA leadership team facilitating the efficient functioning of the entire Festival. This volunteer must be available to attend meetings and be willing to provide secretarial support as required.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Contact persons via phone, email, snail mail

Draft correspondence

Photocopy, print, bind documents

Take minutes at meetings and have these minutes available to team members

Create a database of partners/contact persons/ contributors

Arranging meetings and appointments

OVERSEAS LIAISON (OL) - (Position Filled)
The OL is responsible for liaising with regional and international visitors to the island for the festival and catering to their needs. Their primary role is to facilitate a smooth transition from the visitors’ home country to Barbados and be the point person for this group while they attend the Festival. They are generally responsible for making the visitors’ KA experience an enjoyable one.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Establishing connections/relationship with overseas visitors/artistes

Liaising with visitors leading up to the Festival

Being the source of all KA information to this group

Assisting with flight information and booking

Organizing hotel accommodation and identifying reasonable packages

Meet and greet visitors as they arrive.

Organizing transportation or shuttle service to and from events

Organizing activities for them outside of KA e.g. tourist attraction visits

Communicate their needs, issues etc. to the KA team

HOSPITALITY LEAD - (Position Filled)
The Hospitality Lead coordinates and supervises a team to support each event and pre- event leading up to the Festival in the areas of service and care. The Hospitality Lead makes sure the public, participants and volunteer workers feel welcomed, comfortable and their needs are taken care of.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Organizing a team of ushers for each event

Organizing refreshments as needed for practice sessions, pre-events and events

Organizing the cleanup team after each event.

KA MUSIC ADMINISTRATOR (Position Filled)
The KA Music Administrator assists the executive producer with the music administration process locally and internationally.

Scheduling artistes practice sessions

Scheduling recording sessions

Coordinating the music/CD production process

Coordinating the marketing and sale of music

Liaising with local, regional and international radio stations/distribution channels

PHOTOGRAPHER
Team member is responsible for all photography of Festival events and reports directly to the Public Relations and Promotions Lead. Their role heavily influences the public perception of the festival.

VIDEOGRAPHER
Team member is responsible for all video recording of Festival events and reports directly to the Public Relations and Promotions Lead. Their role heavily influences the public perception of the festival.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & PROMOTIONS LEAD - (Position Filled)
The combined role of PRPL uses all forms of the media to promote, maintain and manage the public awareness of the Festival and manages associate roles who assist with executing this task.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Planning, directing and implementing PR and promotion strategies

Managing and supervising a team (Social media marketers, Photographers, Videographers)

Writing and distributing press releases to targeted media

Liaising with all aspects of media and the public

Collating media coverage

Working closely with the Brand Specialist to create promotional material

Fostering community relations and involvement.

CULINARY ARTS DIRECTOR - (Position Filled)
The Culinary Director conceptualizes the Culinary Event and casts vision to the support team.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Communicating the vision to the KA team

Conceptualizing the Chef/Exhibitor’s prospectus

Sourcing the Chefs/Exhibitors and any support performers (entertainment)

Communicating the vision of the event to the Chefs and support performers

Sourcing the location

Overseeing the process ensuring it aligns with the immediate and overall KA vision

Providing a program for the event
-
Determining any site visits, practice sessions, deadlines, registrations, fees etc.

DÉCOR SPECIALISTS - (Positions Filled)
The décor specialists conceptualize the visual set up for the event or in some cases just brings to fruition the vision of the Event Visionary.

Providing insight on suitable design and decorations

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS
The general volunteer role is an impotant one as these persons lend unwaviering support to the KA Festival teams. As a general volunteer you will have the opportunity to choose the team you wish to be apart of or you will be placed by a leader on a team based on your skills set. If you aren't desirous of being on a specific team you also have the choice of being a volunteer at one or more festival events.
