Creativity embodies the creation of something that once may not have existed. We as humans have all been created in the likeness of God, who is the Father of creativity after all! Look around you and you will see His fingerprint everywhere. The ability to be creative cannot and does not exist outside of God’s download into us.
Daniel 1:17
To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.
Exodus 35:35
He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
The One who has placed every star in the sky
The moon, the sun, every cloud seated way up high
Every beautiful flower and tree your eyes behold
Every diamond, every treasure, every piece of shimmering gold
God has used this world as His canvas, and so eloquently so
The beauty of His mind and creative electricity that resides within has no choice but to show
Take a look at yourself and you’ll be able to see
You are a walking piece of art, a vivid representation of His creativity
The intricate way your body even works
Men are still trying to figure out after thousands of years of search-ing.
He never seems to run out of amazing things to do
And inside each of us that gift He has planted too
Some will be talented at arts and craft
Some will be better at photography; portraying present, future and past
Some may be gifted with the art of poetry and words
Some will be gifted to dance, preach and sing like Heaven’s touching earth
Our creativity is not limited to the “obvious” giftings people may always assume you have to possess
Being innovative! Thinking outside of the box!
Going against the grain! Choosing the less travelled path in which to invest!
These are all filled with the evidence of a creative mind
Everyone to a different degree, but within all of us creativity will be impossible not to find
We encounter problems when we go comparing ourselves to others around us and their levels of creativity
Looking at what they do and saying “Lord I can’t do that, Daddy why can’t I be,
-Like them?” What’s wrong with me?
Beloved, even when you may not see or believe it
There’s One who sees you for the masterpiece that you are
Not perfect, but beautiful, gifted, RARE!
Creativity is within each of us and it’s just waiting to break free
Sometimes all we have to do is search deep for it and BELIEVE
Creativity has been hemmed into every inch of your being
And when you discover it, there’s not much that will be more freeing!
So today! If you have ever doubted your ability to be creative, I’m telling you that you are! I think a big reason why we doubt is because we compare ourselves so much to others, sometimes way too much, and personally I know I have been guilty of this before. Our threads of creativity are different for a reason and a divine purpose. Instead of being envious, be grateful for your portion, it has been designed just for you and no one else.
My prayer for you?
Daddy God, I pray that everyone who reads this post will be reminded that they are a beautiful piece of art, and that You have designed each of them intricately. May they know that into each of them You have downloaded immense creativity to be used for Your glory to impact this world for Your Kingdom. May this reality never cease to be far from their minds and hearts, in Jesus Mighty Name I pray, Amen.
Be blessed beloved! Be set apart! Be creative! Be Y-O-U.

About The Blogger

I am 21 years old and my name is Kathilia Edghill, but I usually go by “Lyrix” for my work. I have been writing poetry for seven years now and just as I have grown as an individual so has my poetry. About two to three years ago I wanted to come up with a name for myself in relation to my art, and this is where “soullyricist/Lyrix” came. “Soullyricist” because when I write, I bare my soul on paper, it’s one of the most honest and freeing escapes I’ve found. The spelling of “Lyrix” just came to me because I wanted something that would show who I am but also be able to work as a name for myself, and it did, and I’ve been using it ever since. I love the arts and I find it’s such a great window of expression. My relationship with God is seriously what keeps me going no matter what is going on in my life, without Him I would cease to exist in every way, He truly is my ONLY Constant. Along with my love for poetry I also dance, sing and do spoken word. I thrive on encouraging people and I enjoy giving it, my life and purpose are bigger than me, and the more I grow the more I realise that.
